RE: Price Of Diesel in Nova Scotia & New Brunswick

On the exchange rate. We are in Canada right now. Some places accept Greenbacks on a 1 for 1 basis. We had one store add a surcharge of about 9%.

RE: How to aim antenna with digital tv?

As john3872 mentioned, most digital TV's have a signal strength readout. Check your manual or poke around with the menu to find it.

RE: HD Video Editing

Well I was hoping to move up to Final Cut Express for editing. From what I am reading on the AV forums (that I was given a link to here), it doesn't sound like that is a good choice right now for editing footage from an AVCHD camera. It is looking as though the editing software has a ways to go to catch up. The cameras have gotten to the point of having equal quality to HD tape, but the editing currently requires a very fast computer with a lot of RAM and a strong video card to get the job done without a whole lot of frustrations.
I am hoping to get a new camera before the end of the month, I need to decide on tape or flash memory.
Thanks for all of the info and the links provided were a great source of info.

RE: HD Video Editing

Thanks for all of the replys. I have checked out the links provided and they will be helpful.
Creeper, are you using iMovie 06 or 08 and is your camera AVCHD?
The problems I am concerned about are getting smooth edits from cutting clips and not having enough CPU speed to render at a reasonable time frame. I am reading about 5 and 10 x real time for rendering and burning.

HD Video Editing

I have been waiting for the past year for the HD Video consumer cameras to get the quality of the flash and hard drive cameras to be equal to the tape based HD cameras. In looking at reviews, both Canon and Sony have reach that point. My issue is that I am ready for the camera but it is looking like the editing side of the equation is not there yet. From what I can tell, if I want to edit clips from a AVCHD camera I would need a super computer and some very expensive software and lots of time to edit and burn a DVD.
I currently have a 1 yr old intel dual core iMAC with 2gig of ram. My laptop is currently a XP machine but a MAC Powerbook is in the near term.
I have been using iMovie to do some DVD's and have been happy with the results, but would like some software that allows a few more options. Maybe Final Cut Express. I am now thinking I may need to go the tape route with the new camera to avoid the editing problems.
Anyone out there have any experience with the AVCH HD cameras?

Pets in PP of Ontario

I have been on a few park websites and I am not seeing any mention of pets. I am aware that in some Canadian PP pets are not allowed.
We are doing the circle route of Superior in a few weeks and would like to stay in some PP. The first one that caught my eye was Pancake Bay. I can't find any reference to pets on their website.
I am hoping someone can set me straight on the issue.
thanks.

RE: Excel Question, how to update a column of numbers

frankjake,
Don't delete the old colum, it will give you a ref error. Sorry about that. Also DW has another approach she will try and I may get back to you with something.

RE: Excel Question, how to update a column of numbers

Frankjake,
The first approach that comes to mind would be as follows.
1) insert a column next to the one you want to work on.
2) in the new column (for example R) adjacent to the first number write a formula like (=q1+5)
3)copy the formula and then paste in the rest of the column
4)Having the columns next to each others gives you a quick check. You can then format the new column for $ and delete the old column to get your print format back.
Hope this helps.

RE: Need a TV for New 5er

Yep a wall mount. Hartland puts a block in the wall above a cabinet that most people would put their TV either on or above it. They say up to and including a 26" flat screen.
I had a wall mount in my previous 5 er, but it was a 15 " set and I braced up the wall. Went to Alaska and back without a hic-up.

Need a TV for New 5er

We are looking for a TV to wall mount in our 5er. 19 - 26" HDTV. Would like to have a dependable unit. Our TV viewing is mostly news but we watch movies and our own DVD's I will be getting a HD camcorder next. So being able to play back the days clips (through the camera or PC) is a big requirement. Have done a little shopping and not finding much available in that size range. Most of what I see are brands I have never heard of before.
Any suggestions?
thanks

RE: On The Road To Alaska

klm,
We went our US 2 from Northern Michigan to Alaska in 2006. It was a great trip and would do the US way again. We crossed into Canada at Portal ND.

Free Rv & Boat Storage

I just saw on the 6pm news where the Michigan Dept of Natural Resources is offering a program where at select state campgrounds they will store your RV and boat for free. They are doing this to allow people to travel to the campground then return home without towing and then come back to the campground again without towing.
I guess the DNR is thinking people are not going to come and go as much this year with gas so high.
I checked their website but found no mention of the program there yet.
Here is a link to the news article that I saw. http://www.9and10news.com/category/story/?id=134823

RE: Husky Hitch

I have never read a story of anyone on here with a Husky hitch dropping a fiver on their rails.
Boy.....I sure wish you hadn't posted that statement. You just know it's going to happen to one of us now.
It's like I have read in other post, on another subject. There are 2 kinds of 5th wheel towers. Those who have wrecked there tailgates and those who are going to.;)

RE: Hi! New to forum....any suggestions on new fifth-wheel?

We had a rip in our rocker and a small tear in the sofa (sofa with air mattress) PDI items. They were changed out, through the door no problem. The sofa drawer came out, that helped. Also the sofas can sometimes be taken apart further if needed.

RE: Cleaning the rubber roof: Yipes

I would have to say I find my a little slippery once it is wet and soapy. I think the right footware is helpful. I wear boat deck shoes or my LL Bean boots. Both provide good traction and don't leave any marks on the roof.
